Should have hunted this morning

Post by galamb »

So deer opened here in Ontario on Wednesday the 1st. Went out the night before, slept out and hunted all the 1st - saw nothing, but hey, it's just opening day - still have 3 months to hunt.

Decided to go out this afternoon (3rd) - guess I was a few hours too late.

Ya, that's my stand 15 yards back from where Bambi is standing...

I often have the same disappointments, the trail cam tells me I should have been there at a different time.
At least you know what time he visited now, maybe he'll do it again. :D

And most importantly to me: he's using the area at least sometimes in the daylight! last season was my first one to use trail cams; two. I got plenty of pics of bucks with a few in the 130-140 class, and some of does and turkeys. As far as the deer are concerned, the only bucks that showed during legal shooting hours were 3-4 that were too small for me to be interested in, and even with the does there were only a couple during the day.

Haven't yet set any out this season, but will next week. I'm self employed and make it a personal habit to be out there on the weekdays and work weekends if needed! :D

It'll make tagging one that much sweeter. I love trying to match a harvest with trail cam pics.

Good luck~!
