string question

Post by ClintRhodes »

What type of string is best for quieting down the bow and reducing shock. I don't care about speed loss but only if it's a noticeable reduction in shock/noise.

Thanks.

Without a doubt, contact Boo on this forum and tell him what you want. I'm thinking an original Boo string with whiskers.

...have a custom Boo Flemish with wiskers and my M380 is much quieter than my boys M380's with stock strings...and yet they are the ones with the 8 pointers this year....

....go figure!

Yeah I hear ya. I for sure know there's no way to make a crossbow "quiet". But I'm all for reducing it as much as possible. And I also don't think losing some speed is a big deal. I'm not a speed guy. If at 300fps or higher with a crossbow.....I'm good to go.

...granted the BB I shot on Sat was only 30 yds and quartering to me...but there was absolutely NO movement on this deer as the shot was launched...
I know it has been said before....out to 40 yds...they have no chance with the CB...the sound reduction is merely for our benefit... the deer hears it after the "arra" has passed through...IMHO

I shot my last Doe usin Marie Laveau 355, 47 yds. Used D97 materal string, she didn't pay no attn. to my shot. Of my last 100 or so deer none made any complaints of the string noise. :)
