Where is everyone setting their brace height on the Micro? Dead on the line or slightly above it?

X4 - 1/4" off the Reds, which on my Micro is about 1/8" behind the line.

I just got my new Micro assembled last night, and the brace height appears to be about 5/8" from the REDS (or about 1/2" behind the line marked on the top of rail)....is this normal for a new and never-shot bow/string set-up??

My first thought was; "the string will stretch after some shooting and the gap will close a little". But I'm not sure. I'm still new to all of this. The owner's manual doesn't give any specs for the Micro, but it does give info for the regular Matrix line. Did I accidentally get the wrong manual with my bow?

If I shoot this thing with the string 5/8" from the REDS will I damage something?

Thanks! :D

No, but I would watch it closely. It should be only 1/4" off the bumpers after a few shots.

OK. That's what I was thinking, but wanted confirmation from this experienced group first. Thank you. :)

Not a fan of describing brace height in relation to the REDS. Those rubber pads location can vary a little bit. The line is on the rail for a purpose.

Like xcalibur I am keeping mine about 1/8" behind the line. This means from the line to the front edge of the string is about 1/8" inch.

but unfortunately, the new Micros don't actually have the line on the rail any longer, that's why people use the reds to measure brace hight now...

This post is 3 years old..............

Measure BH from where the riser meets the rail.

After awhile like 100 shots your string will settle down and stay away from rubber bumpers..Like said mine seems to shoot great if its 3/16 away from rubbers or 1/4 inch ....

If you are using a micro with the DR bumpers installed ( not the REDS nor D. Miller B/B's ) the 1/4" gap between the string and bumpers is not valid..

Gaston recommends that the string very slightly touches the bumpers with his design.
