Matrix 355 question

Post by ejb »

Hi

This is my first experience with a crossbow. I just got a Matrix 355, watched the video and put it together. The video said to make sure the riser is all the way down on the mainframe. When I seat the riser on the mainframe and bolt it down, it leaves a small gap at the joint where the brace height is measured from just big enough to slide a piece of paper through. Is this normal? I would appreciate it if someone could ease my mind so I can finish putting this beautiful bow together. Thanks

Here is a picture of my 355 were the riser meets the rail. Not the best fit as you can see but it certainly does work. I am assuming it is normal. The bow is extremely accurate. Good luck with yours ejb your going to love it.

Nepabowhunter are you sure that that is normal? I don't have a matrix but my Ibex is tight no way to get a sheet of paper between....And my sons 380 matrix is tight also, just called him to see..Don't see were it could hurt any thing? I wonder though.........

My Ibex SMF was tight, Vortex, Matrix 355, and Micro are not. The gap is normal on aluminum rail models. It looks like the adjoining radii are the culprit from allowing it butt up tight. It will work excellent just like it is!
Congrats on a sweet bow, and welcome to team 355! 8)

My Matrix 355 has a similar gap and it has not been a problem.

Keep the string 1/4 to 1/8" off the reds and you will be ok. :)
