RamCat Terminal Performance

Post by nchunterkw »

Was at a trade show this weekend and met and talked with the owner/designer of the RamCat head. He (and the video evidence) were very compelling and so I bought a pack :) Just wondering if anyone on here used them this year and had any stories or pics of how they worked on deer/hogs/ etc.

Shot my Iowa buck with a 100gr ramcat. Great blood trail. Went 50 yards. I will not shoot anything else.

I like them NC, I've been shooting them for 2 seasons out of an LS 390 Strker, I also shoot the G5 Stryker mag out of the Excal this season but will probably go to the Ramcat for next season with it as well. I love Dorges system (Firenock) of O- rings, it really makes zero wobble on the head, also RC is coming out with a new blade for the RC ferrule that is a little more stout and not needle pointed, that's what I've been wanting so that's a definite try for me!!
Here's a video of a kill that I didn't get on film due to the fact that I got excited and didn't hit the record button ! But it shows the hole the RC put in .

Bought RC's when they fist came out,,,thought they were rather "dull",,,shot deer with them,,,was not particularily impressed ,,nor dis-pleased with them,,,I decided to try Magnus Buzzcuts which I thought were much sharper and beefier,,,I then shot the Buck you see here on my avatar and was impressed with the blood trail it produced and the size of the entry and exit holes,,,it was like a bucket of red paint was poured on the ground,,,so that's what I have stuck with,,plus you can't beat the warranty which I have taken advantage of numerous times,,,I have heard more positives than negatives with respect to the RC's though!!

Squatch...I have a bunch of Slicks (various ones) and now a few Ramcats. I plan to shoot both at deer next year and try to document bloodtrails etc. I have had zero problems with my Slicks so far but I'm always tinkerin'
