Luminok weight?

Post by paulaboutform »

I seem to have lost my marbles temporarily. I recently bought some .5" 10-24 stainless set screws weighing 18.5 grains. I thought 'perfect', a spot of glue and I'm at 20 grains like my Luminoks. Question: Do the Luminoks weigh 20 or 28 grains? I could weigh them myself I'm just not home much these days. Thanks.

I have found both 28 and 29 grains on various pages but in the Burt Coyote website it says that flat nocks for BE arrows are 28 grains, the crescent nocks are 29grains. But like flightattendent said, we are splitting hairs.

I just plopped one on the scale. 27.8 grains. Some arrows vary in weight more then you would be off. just add a tad more glue.

GTF Lumenoks are 28 gr.
BE flat plastic inserts are 8 gr.
Add your 18.5 gr.add a weight with a drop of glue
(1 -1.5 gr) inside your inserts and you are spot on Paul.
A grain +/- is ideal.

   OH MY GOSH! I've just regained my senses. Thanks Norm, I didn't add the weight of the nock as I did initially. I'm all good. I'll weigh it up to determine how much glue to add and I'm off to the races. :D
