I have no idea what the common denominator could be, I was shooting 370 grn arrows and hadn't really shot it much, I noticed the side that let go was a tad closer to the bumper, then whamo...lol
The scorpyds were just having what appeared to be a small crack which was said to be just in the finish.

....I was shooting 380 g 15" ZS and Executioners (2 of each)...there were no clues...

....I suggest that all 335 shooters cock their CB and look it over while cocked...I would hate to have this happen while launching an arra which could very well explode in one's hands....not pretty!

The reason I ask is that if yes, that's a common variable in the equation. Maybe by reducing the noise/vibration is also not allowing the limbs to act and flex like they are supposed to thereby restricting their natural firing movement and adding more stress instead of reducing it
Is there a common factor that no Micro WITH Air Brakes has broken limbs? Something to consider.
Anthony, I'm sorry your Micro broke.
The thought about the greater serving wear indicating a possible limb problem is valid, IMO .

Wow that sure looks nasty. No way that one is a "cosmetic defect" :D

I am glad you are ok! Overall it could have been much worse, at least it gave out while "at rest" rather than at full draw when you were lining up a shot. I have seen a few "wheeled" bow limb failures and they never look pretty. That is one of the reasons I chose an Excalibur recurve bow in the first place.

I know Danny will have you back in shooting form in no time, so you will have plenty of time to catch up on your practice for Boofest.

Steve, there is a thread here that one broke after they installed the airbrakes.
I have noticed that every one that I know of has been the left side... ??

Thanks for the heads up

Are limbs manufactured to be ambidextrous or designated right and left?

Jack Pine on archery forum has a tiller problem as well.
His micro 335 "Baby Huey" has been rushed to the ER to see DR Dan with a weak left limb. Xrays confirm the problem.

LETS NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS ABOUT THE MICRO...
I would like to hear from the majority of people who own MICROs and haven't had limb issues.after my limb cracked I talked to Danny extensively about this and he said he thinks there may have been a bad batch of limbs, or mine may just have been an exception in a good batch, and that this should not be indicative of a trend with the MICRO. however, he did say that it is unreasonable to demand smaller and more powerful crossbows and not expect more limb issue from time to time.....and YES, I spoke to a former vendor for Scorpyds and the Vents did have their share of CRACKED limbs esp with the 150 lb model......
so as long as the Excal warranty is bulletproof I have absolutely no regrets buying my MICRO...my only problem is trying to decide which EXCAL to buy as a backup....

....Our thought exactly Mike...Word is out on the street and in the "bigga houza" where Uncle Vinny is "on vacation" that we will not tolerate what the Delaminatto's, Fracturino's and Stressinato's have attempted on "Bada Broke!"

....In fact we will get even "tiller" come hell or high water....Bada Broke will once again be his healthy usual self all thanks to Dr. Danny Miller....and of course the many candles and novenas being being lite and said on his behalf in Italy....

.....His Nona already promised to make him his favorite Italian dish; "Zuppa de Pesce..."

I've so far not had any issues with my Micro which was bought back in Nov of last year and have shot the hell out of it since. I've hunted with it for 10-12 hour days while it has been cocked during all that time.

Bought another one for my daughter for an Xmas gift. She has shot it a lot since too and no issues at all..

The following is what I've done to mine, but have done nothing what so ever to my daughter's bow other than changing out the stock string.

Ok, here we go: My bow only:

1. I put on a Danny Miller flemish string.
2. Changed out the stock trigger for a TT..
3. Filled the barrel hollows spots with packing foam strips to deaden it a bit.
4. Wrapped the stirrup with rubberized tape.
5. Maintain the brace right at the scribed line.
6. I shoot 405 grain arrows.

That is it. On my Daughter's bow all I've done is put on a Danny Miller flemish string..

Now this is an idea that has been in the back of my mind since my 405 problems with the limbs..

Is it possible that those limb brackets are causing the splinters?

Is it possible that those brackets are causing stress points and not letting the limbs flex in their natural motion?

Are they torqued down to a certain spec or just hand tightened?

Are those brackets crushing fibers that we cannot see when they are tightened down?

Maybe because of the Matrix and Micro series of bows having shorter limbs, those brackets need to be looked at as a source of the issue.
