1989 flemish string for alligator arrow / 175 lb limbs...

Post by Panhandler80 »

I have an axiom that I have successfully gator hunted with using 22/64 solid fiberglass arrows, 22" in length. I had an Excel string on At the time. Bow now has dyna string on it. Should I change back to excel for that super heavy arrow and point combo, or not worry about it so long as I make absolute sure that arrow is all the way back in receiver before fire?

I went ahead and went back to excel string. Those solid glass arrows are HEAVY and have grooved nocks. One time several years ago the arrow must have slid forward some. My buddy shot and I guess between distance and maybe not hitting the grooved nock, the string essentily jumped the arrow and basically dry fired. Would rather have excel on should that ever happen again.
