another newbie question about targets?

Just would like some suggestions on good targets for broadheads? I have a delta mckenzie target that says it's good for both field points and broadheads. It was a lie! My broadheads cut right through it like it was warm butter! Which targets would you recommend? Or can I make a home made one that would work?

I asked the same question a month or so ago. About 75% of the folks suggested a rineheart 18-1, so that is what I bought.

....shadytree is correct the Reinhart 18 in 1 IS your best bet when it comes to BH usage...I have one and it is my go to target

I also agree on the Rinehart 18-1 it's expensive but worth it. I'm shooting a Matrix 355 and Boltcutter heads at 339 fps. I still need an arrow puller to get the bolts out of the target. I suggest making your own arrow puller rather than paying $20+ for one. Simply cut a 6" long piece of 3/4"" wooden dowl. Drill a 3/16" hole in the center of the dowl perpendicular to the length. Put a 2" x 8/32 screw in it and secure it with a matching locknut. I also drilled and tapped one end and installed a 1/4" x 20 bolt then cut the head off. I use this for my brace height gauge between the string and R.E.D.S. bumpers.
I use the Morrell's Yellow Jacket crossbow target for my field points. I can pull them out with two fingers. I've invested $175 in these 2 targets but it's necessary to have good targets for your crossbow. I put them in my storage building after each use, so hopefully they will last a LONG time. LOL

Spend the money, get a pair of Danny Millers arrow pulling pliers. You will never regret it.

p.s Those shots on the target are my wifes with a bundle bow at ten yards. She be tryin.
Also, if you wipe the front half of your arrow with silicone spray on a rag, then wipe it off, you can pull the arrows a lot easier.

Aside from just filling a bag with rags for broad heads I purchased the Rinehart Rhino block because the centre of the target can be replaced if you eat it all up using broad heads, but I found that the Rinehart material damages my broad heads so after a few practice shots it no longer shoots accurately , so now I use the bag full of cloths.

You must have a bad target. I'm on my second one in five years and have never had a problem or maybe it's only endemic to the rhino block? I tried shooting a broadhead into my bag target and had to do major surgery to remove it and repair the rag bag. It twisted up inside something fierce.
