Ground Blind
Hi All, I am seriously considering purchasing a ground blind so when one of my grandsons goes hunting with me. I'm probably gonna set it up and leave it most of the season. I want something with plenty of room and that functions well for archery and rifle season. (Although I gun hunt with a muzzleloader) I have zero experience with ground blinds and would appreciate some input with what you are using or have used. It also may have to b e able to handle a few inches of snow. LOL!!!
Thanks so much for the input.
God Bless,
Kevin

Re: Ground Blind
I have used several ground blinds in the past couple of years. The best deal I have found is actually at Walmart and it is the Dominator ground blind by Ameristep. Very large interior plenty of windows and holds up to the weather. I got ties up with work this year and left all my blinds out over the off season., checked them all a few weeks ago and they still look great. Price is $99.00 but they will usually go on sale for 89.00 here in a few weeks.

I have the Ameristep Doghouse, it has proven to be nice in the rain and well made.

Re: Ground Blind
I just picked up another Ameristep Doghouse to replace the one I have at the feeder/food plot. Got this one for $56. shipped on eBay. It stays out year round. I usually get 5 years or more out of one.

Re: Ground Blind
But keep in mind the four mentioned blinds above are on the small side, so the plenty of room option isn't there. But i like both, for a one man blind.

Re: Ground Blind
It all depends on your budget, but for the price I like my Doghouse, I am now back up in a tree stand, but when I use to use it it would stay up for about two months and never has problems, but if you get snow on it make sure to get it off because it makes noise as things warm up inside the tent and the snow starts sliding off.
Again, if your budget is bigger there are bigger and more solid options.

Re: Ground Blind
I use the original Double Bull blind from when Double Bull was owned by them. It's fantastic and two can sit inside no problem. I don't leave mine out unless I'm on private land hence the number of years I've had it.

I use an original DB Matrix also. Been hunting out of it for more years than I care to remember and it still looks new. Great blinds with plenty of room.

You make that big Teamster money. I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a ground blind.paulaboutform wrote:I use the original Double Bull blind from when Double Bull was owned by them. Re: Ground Blind
You may want to conside this if you are looking for something very light and easy to set up/take down:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AN0 ... ge_o02_s00
Granted, it's not a full pop-up blind, but if you want to be more mobile and not set up in the same place twice, it might be a good option.
