dunking a matrix
Hi guys, maybe a crazy question but for arguments sake could a cocked matrix be dunked completely in water, for example if I fell of a log or rock in the forest, or decided to swim across a creek and then fired?

No problem, I've sat in downpours moose hunting many a time. Good oiling required once back home to prevent rust.

I would say that if the string is waxed well then it wont absorb water and will fire spot on..conversely if its a dry string and soaks up a lot of water then the point of impact could change some. as far as the trigger unit..it will get filled with dirty water and will need a good cleaning and drying out.

Re: dunking a matrix
In my early years torture testing I went one step farther.
I didn't have anything big enough to "dunk" a bow, so I layed the hose to it, then in to the chest freezer it went, 48 hours.
Trigger was a bit harder to snap, but it did, ice shrapnel everywhere. POI was off a bit, still deer accurate though.
Once it dried there was no long term effects.
Bow was an Exocet.
