Yes Normous and that went through my mind as I wrote that comment. I would say however that that has changed a lot in the last few years when it comes to rifles. Many rifle manufacturers stepped up several years ago and started installing better triggers and adjustable triggers in their products and now most all companies have jumped on the bandwagon. The design of the Excal trigger is not the problem in fact I think its a very good design but I'm no expert on triggers. However after working over 35 years in quality for a very large auto company I can say without hesitation that it does not cost that much to setup a machining process and rate that can do a outstanding finish on a piece of metal. We lived by the saying that "good enough is not good enough"there are no excuses... It is also apparent that the trigger concerns on these bows didn't surface until the heavier Matrix 380 and 405 went into production at which time the excessive weight being applied to the trigger generated excessive friction and a more difficult trigger pull. At least that was my understanding. In any event I am sure Excal has a finger on the pulse of this and may even have it resolved by now. You make a good point though Normous. I guess I just hold Excal to a higher standard in my mind because to me they are the absolute best crossbow made and I certainly have confidence in them and love my Matrix 380. Take care.

I would like to see these videos... can you elaborate on who the copycat company is? Maybe who they rhyme with if you can't say the name... or shoot me a direct message... I tried typing in "crossbow trigger fail" on youtube and couldn't find anything.

ive seen the videos a while back. that guy has got to be joking.the tests dont even come close to real world.those failures seem more like an extreme frankenstein experiment. trys to sell the idea that mounting a crossbow in a clamp down type vice rest and smashing it with a heavy weight from the back is like having a crossbow fall out of a tree. why not just drop the test crossbows from a 10- 30 ft height. too many variables to be fair. for instance the Excalibur crossbows weight alot more than his crossbow. when hit with the weight youll see his crossbow slide more on the table where the energy with the heavier Excalibur crossbow will transfer energy within rather than sliding across the table.the test is ridiculous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjSDmM3uYaA

Maybe I should not bring this up ! But after studying shades mods I noticed that the screw that holds the actual trigger in place is tapped all the way through the upper piece. My solution was a longer screw with a lock nut, I now have an adjustable trigger just as shade with out the drilling and tapping. I made sure it was loctited good and solid, anyway if it were to loosen I would be right back to where we started, factory. Be safe have fun Mtn Jack. P.s This mod is not for the mechanic inept.
