POI- BH Change

Post by Sooner44 »

Hello all !

New to the forum, and new to excalibur crossbows.

Bought my Matrix 330 from a local shop last week and noticed the brace heigth was "0". String was even with the joint. I noticed this bow only had one line on the deck, compared with the two lines on my hunting buddy's excal bow.
I asked the dealer to set the brace heigth and i got the deer in the headlights look, and finally convienced him to put a few twist in the string, he did and it was 3/8" from the joint. ( I bought the string aid and left). I sighted in the bow at 3/8" BH.
Tonight I put about 20+- twist on the string and it is now sitting about 7/8" from the joint (end of deck). I assume this is okay, I read on this site 5/8 - 1".

My question is: How much change in POI do you think this will make going from 3/8" BH to 7/8" BH. ??

Have a great day and be safe !

I see very little change in speed or POI changing BH setting . I keep mine about 3/4" from the joint where the Riser/Rail join . A lot of people go even further with no problems at all .

Thanks for the quick reply 8pt, I wasn't really looking forward to dialing in the scope again, although I will check poi prior to opening day.

Well, my string is new, so I don't see a need to buy another new string :)

I was harvesting deer with my old Jennings bow, and my blazing Martin jaguar spitting out a blazing 200 FPS, so I think im good with 330 fps :)

I'm sure the fever will get me soon enough ! I'll prolly have all the goodies, more so if I keep reading all these post !
