bad form while shooting?

Post by Pasidewinder »

Ok fellas, I've posted about haveing some scope issues and even had Danny replace one for me, but I think I figured out my issues.

This mite make sense to some of you, and some mite think I'm crazy but here what I believe was my issues. First and foremost I'm a rifle shooter, I have been for 20 years, benchrest mostly. And when I shoog my rifles I nestle them into the bags, I have a firm grip on the grip/Palm swell, then I rest my opposite index finger of my other hand along the stock but do not apply much preassure at all. This seems to help me shoot most accurate out of a rifle.

I have been shooting my rifles like this every few days since April, and I cought myself shooting my crossbow like this, holding the grip/trigger tightly but only laying my hand along the foregrip and not holding it securely, I was shooting everywhere with the new scope until I realised what I was doing and corrected it with a total tight hold on the crossbow, then I started shooting same hole groups. I'm glad I figured this out, I just never really gave it any thought till today! I feel pretty stupid but I've spent many years perfecting my form as far as rifle shooting goes, I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!
