I am willing to trade a Win. 30-30 for a crossbow.

Post by Northerner »

I have an older 30-30 Winchester 30-30 lever action and was wondering if anyone would have a spare crossbow they might be willing to part with.

I would like to get started with bow hunting and now have the bug! :D

Thanks.

I don't have a bow that I would part with, but maybe I can help.

If you want your location to be private, that's your business. However, it may encourage a response if you let people know at least what state/province in which you live. If you are Canadian, firearms regulations here would make the transaction more difficult. Canadian/US cross border shipping of the rifle would likely be a pile of red tape.

Yes, good point. Thank you. The gun is also registered. I am interested in parting with it as I am in WMU 65 which is a shotgun only zone. Thus it has sat in my closet for a number of years. :?

Well Northerner I would work out a trade with ya, but I am in the U.S.A and red tape would be a BEAR :!:

Isn't that funny, somebody 100 years ago would think one would be crazy to trade a 30-30 for a crossbow or bow. Since men would have done anything just to lay their hands on a winchester.

Man times have changed!!!

yes, so true... I think I have found an Exocet that I can negotiate for through a hunting partner. Not for my rifle but he is considering an upgrade to the 185lb draw? The price he is asking is around $500.00 cdn. Does that sound about right? I am hoping to try and bargain him down too.

I appreciate the honesty though guys. :D

Northerner, the price is about right depending on age/ condition. I am also from wmu 65. Have you checked out the local shops aroun Cornwall or Alexandria? Might be worth a trip. -JR

No I haven't yet begun checking what stores have what, as I am just coming to reality about trying to trade the gun etc.

What does it come with? Hmm some arrows, a string. I don't really know to be honest. He did mention that going to a bow with a stronger pull would require arrows to match??

I would be getting his entire setup. What does that entail. I will have to inquire further.
