335 Micro Anti Dry Fire Problem

Post by WVEER »

Just set down in the blind a few mins ago and loaded up the excal for today's hunt here in WV. I always check after cocking to make sure that I have the string all the way back to the firing mechanism. I noticed that the anti dry fire arm was not down. I pushed the activator in and out and it manipulates the arm, but it doesn't spring up and down like before. Long story short if I don't remember to push the thing down myself I could have a problem. Anyone else have this problem?

There is a very small and thin spring steel wire that pushes the anti dry fire arm down when there is no arrow in the bow. It could of come out of place. If that is it, you have to take off the scope rail and reset the wire. If that is it

It feels like there is no spring attached. That is probably the problem. The plunger that activates the actual catch has no spring to it like before. I hate to have to re-sight during season, but better than a possible dry fire.

Your left and right should remain on target. Your elevation might have to be tweeted though because there is up and down play on the rail if you loosen up those four screws. Just try to remember which way the play is on when you loosen them. I like to keep upward pressure on that rail as I tighten down the screws that way I know how it goes back on if I had to take it off or it became loose.

Do all 4 screws on each side (8 total) have to be removed to take the anti dry fire off?

There are four button head screws, two on each side. Then the whole rail will lift off the trigger assembly.

Good luck getting them loose. They are very hard to remove the first time usually. I stripped two of them trying and had to cut a slot and use a screwdriver to remove them. My POI did not change though when reassembled.

As noted, make sure you have a good tight made set of Allen Wrenches. As said stripping out the heads are not hard to do.

Quick update. Problem with anti dry fire is corrected. I took the ADF off and figured the problem out quickly. As posted before the small button bolts are very tight so make sure you have a quality Allen wrench. There is a small metal priece that butts up against the actual ADF arm and is connected to the ADF plunger just above the safety. The metal piece had slipped under the ADF arm and therefore was not putting pressure on the plunger and making it push back. I don't know the technical names for everything on the ADF but hope my descriptions describes the situation. Hope this may help someone else. Now time to re-sight!!!

Glad you got it fixed. It will probably still be spot on.
