I keep seeing this beautiful 8 point pop in and out of the small (and I mean really small) wooded area in my back yard. Before we get too excited, I live in a suburban neighborhood south of Atlanta comprised of nice homes on 1 acre lots.
There is a slight rise behind my house so not a great chance of hitting the home behind me (or anyone around it). The lots on one side of my house are not developed yet and fairly overgrown (where the buck is hoping to copulate I suspect).
With my 380, I am confident I could pop open my office window and put him down from my desk and no one would be the wiser
Until I have to track a blood trail through neighbor's yards - past their pools and playsets and patios and eventually haul the bloody carcass back the way I came. This is where it all falls apart.
I can envision the kids parading behind me as I drag my prize back to the house and their moms fainting along the way (no offense to any ladies on here - I am specifically thinking of my neighbors). PETA would surely show up on my doorstep and perhaps with the local news. Alright, maybe I am getting a bit carried away.
Now, I'll admit, I have utilized the bedroom blind (
I am pretty confident that I'll leave this guy alone to do his business and make more temptation for me in the years to come but I can't help but think ... just maybe.
The deadly precision and quietness of our tools of choice is what makes this difficult. I certainly wouldn't be popping off rounds here - that's for sure.
Anyone else faced with this struggle before? What'd you do?
