I have a 175 draw weight exocet and I want to use 100 gr. slick trick broad heads. I see that they sell Xbow heads now, I am undecided between the 100 gr xbow heads and the standard 100 gr. heads. Would there be any advantage in using the xbow over the standard?

Re: slick trick broadheads
Joe,
I have shot the 100gr Standards, 100gr and 125gr Magnums, and 150gr Xbow Tricks from my Vortex and all shoot the same. IMO you can just swap blades around to create about anything you want. I also don't see much difference in a 100gr Xbow Trick and a 100gr Magnum. The ferrule is a little longer but IMO you won't have a problem shooting any of them. But whatever is cheaper
I do like the size of the Magnum/Xbow Trick a little better though.

Re: slick trick broadheads
Last I knew they only sold 150 grain Xbow tricks. You would want to shoot these if you are shooting arrows with an aluminum insert. It will give you more FOC making it more accurate for you. If you have a brass insert in your arrows like a 92 gr. or higher insert the 100 to 125 grain should work great for you. I have shot both the 150 gr. Xbow tricks on my factory Excalibur arrows, and the 100 gr standard broadheads with my Executioners. They flew great from both setups. I do however prefer the Black Eagle arrows made by Jerry of South Shore Archery. Good luck!

Re: slick trick broadheads
I just got a pack of the 100gr xbow and they are the same as my magnums, I think they are just marketing them as xbow. Only difference I noticed was some of the machining by the threads is thinner. Might just be something the new owners changed.

I get field point accuracy with 100 grn standards in everything from my 380's to the Micro. I would use the smaller cut of the standard in a slower bow, just to ensure pass thru's!

Re: slick trick broadheads
I have used slick tricks since they came on the market..Can't fault them. I use 150 Xbow with my Ibex (175 lb draw) and Excaliber Firebolt arrows. I find the firebolts prefer 150. Probably the aluminum insert as stated. I use Black Eagle Executioners with 125 magnums in my 355. Accuracy is great.

I believe after the original owner passed away,a new ownership group has acquired them.woodmnctry wrote:Might just be something the new owners changed.

The ferrule of the xbow trick looks a bit different than the mag.and is available in 100 and 150gr.The 100gr mags fly great out of my Ibex on BEE,s with brass inserts.

They are now owned by The Outdoor Group. They closed the original factory and moved operations.
