The specs list 30 minutes of angle max adjustment. That is VERY little.

Also interested in this! I don't know much about MOA so I was wondering what a max of 30 means? I saw that the parralax is set at 50 yards which I've heard is to far for a crossbow scope but I don't really know what that is either! Lol any clarification would be great.

Thanks

I never noticed that, how does 30 mm max angle compare to let's say a Nikon bolt which is listed as 120 moa?

Don't know about their xbow scopes but I have a cheap ($59) 3-9x Scorpion on my 17hmr. That gun gets used a ton and has shot 1000+ rounds over the years with that scope on it and other than the initial sight in it has never needed adjusting.

That timeframe includes numerous bumps and bangs and one epic header where I landed full body weight on the scope. None of these incidents knocked the scope off its zero.

Glass is average and suffers a bit at the top end of the magnification.

MOA means "minute of angle." So the Nikon at 120 MOA has 4x the adjustment that the Scorpion has at 30 MOA.

Another way to think of it is 1 MOA represents very close to 1 inch at 100 yards. If your target is at 20 yards than 1 MOA represents very close to 1/5 of an inch. Therefore 30 MOA would give you about 6 inches of elevation adjustment at 20 yards.

Ok now I understand, that is a big difference. Thank you for that lesson. I'm not in a big rush to buy right now but I'd like to learn as much as I can to make the right choice. Right now I'm leaning towards either the Nikon bolt or one of the Hawke scopes, possibly the xb rs. I'd like to keep it under $200cdn (around $150us)

Check Leupold vx-I 1-4x shotgun scopes. I really like the heavy duplex reticle. You can pick up a used, in great shape, off eBay sometimes for 125-150 shipped. Great scopes and lifetime warranty that you won't need! :D
