Love it great story and pictures.
The fact that this yote has three legs is always intriguing to me. Back in the early 70's there was an old guy upnorth not far from our cabin that had a 200 mile trapline. He used to use a snowmobile to cover the distance. He had a large cable running from a tree to his barn that had to be at least 50 feet long. When we were up there I used to go over to his place and look at all the yotes, fox, and bobcats he would have hanging on that cable and it was usually completely full with the critters. There were from time to time yotes that only had three legs. he told me once that it was very common for yotes when caught in a trap to chew their leg off so they could escape. He said at times he would find one of his traps with just a yote leg left in it. Anyway they are incredibly tough animals for sure even though most of us hunters hate them myself included I guess I still have to respect any living creature that would chew its leg off to survive..That may not be what happened to yours but I wouldn't be surprised..Again great post and thanks for sharing.
