Grizzly ??

Post by joeyd50 »

I had a Axiom 175lbs draw, no problem changing strings. I have a Grizzly now 200lbs draw, I can't get this thing back to change the string, I know I can get it back, but it is so much harder I stop fearing somethings going to break. Should I just go for it? I have the string changer with the blue ends.

Stringer should handle it, they handled the 225 pounders. Easy way to rope cock it sit down set yer hooks n push wid yer leg. So much easier than by usin yer arms n bendin over. Bendin over is what most ppl. do to rope cock them n thats not good on yer back

I can't believe it's so much harder then the Axiom, I could change the Axiom with no effort at all, this Grizzly seems like it don't want to budge.

Try a Matrix 355 380 or 405. You will fing the Grizzly easy afterwards. :D

Are you cocking it by hand or with a rope cocker?
If by hand you really need to use the rope cocker.

Are you sure your stringer is going under the hold down device? I ask as a couple times this happened to me when the stringer rope was not in the grove below the safety.... It had moved above the groove right below the safety, allowing the stringer to rise above the device.... It stops quickly if this happens.

I commonly use a stringer on my bows with draw weights up too 270# and find it very do-able if everything is set up correctly prior to pulling up on the rope until I hear the second click ( as I us an ADF devices on all of my bows ) .

I much prefer the Heavy Duty Stringing Aid that Danny Miller sells to the Blue Excalibur . I Had one of the Blue Stringing aids break on me , It had a air bubble in it when formed .

Mike, I have heard of a few breaking as well. I would also recommend the new design, or a Danny Miller one.

I never shot this bow yet, I was just going to restring it with new string I got from vixenmaster, I started to cock it to shoot and that seems fine but when I put the destringer on it's like it does not want to move at all. I really think something is going to break. Do you guys think I need a Heavy Duty Stringing Aid?

I would suggest searching out youtube and find a video of string changing or adjusting an Excalibur crossbow.... They are there. (or here in the sidebar in the DVD instructional videos. )

Dan Miller has nothing to do with CN forum (or any other forum). He does not do internet.
