I have a Stevens Crackshot model 17 that was only made in 1915. A sweet little 22 single shot with fixed sights but hits where its pointed out to 30 yards.

I just googled your model 17 that is pretty cool , bet it is fun to shoot.
30 yards is just fine for potting squirrels and using the old timers makes it even better in my mind.

That one is a "Take Down". There is a lever on short magazine tube that lifts and unscrews, then a quarter turn of all front end and she will separate.

That is quite a gun nice feature the take down adds appeal.
