It didn't start out really well as she missed an opportunity to shoot a very nice tall 8 point due to her red dot washing out her target at first legal shooting hours. Made me sick man!! He came in to 16 yds and just stood there begging to be shot. It was not to be I guess!! Anyway, fast forward 30 minutes and three does came in. The biggest gave her a broadside shot at 25 yards. I can proudly say that she is a very good shot with her little Horton Summit crossbow!! Perfect double lung shot and I could see the doe at about 50 yards stumbling. I try to let my girls follow up their shots to the deer but she wanted to get her Labrador Retriever (Bleu) that we have been working with at blood trailing deer. I figured that would give us time to make sure the deer was dead even though the walk back to the house is only a few minutes. After waking her sister and mom up to tell them the good news, we headed back out with dog in tow. I let her handle him and he made short work of the job. Maybe these short easy tracking jobs will get him fired up and good enough if we ever need him on a hard one, at least that is the plan.
I will be replacing that red dot asap and get her a scope. I can't have that happen again!!
Here is her arrow
And her prize pet with her doe:

I know its not an Excalibur but she don't want to shoot mine as she just loves her little Horton! She has killed two bucks and now two does with it! I am one proud Daddy nonetheless and can't wait to get my youngest daughter out there!! There is a big ol buck waiting on them!!
