Matrix micro supressor

Post by donny.brooke »

Just ordered my first crossbow. Matrix micro suppressor. It comes with 3 bolts and ordered 6 more with it. Any recomendations on what broadhead to use and what weight? Shoulder problem has forced me away from compounds to a crossbow.

Going to get a few answers regarding broadheads methinks!

Welcome aboard! I see you took my advice & joined up. Good news! :D

Good bunch of folks here like I suggested, I suspect you'll be seeing a few replies to your questions fairly shortly...

And just for the record, I prefer NAP 125 grain Spitfires.
They have always made me smile

Cheers,
Nog

Thanks for the advice on joining here. Im going to try 125 and 150 grain heads on it to start. See how it shoots.

Welcome to the forum! :D If you're staying with the factory arrows then I suggest you stick with 150gr points. That will maintain enough FOC to give the best accuracy. 125gr heads will also work but I believe the 150gr heads will be more accurate and hit harder. All that being said, the Slick Trick Crossbow Tricks weigh 150gr, are extremely great flyers, are tough as nails, and make a dar bigger hole than they have any business making.

Welcome to the forum ! Maybe you could finish up your profile so we know where you live ?

I have a couple Excals. and have found that for my needs the 125 and 150 grn. Slick Tricks and 100 - 125 gn. G5 stainless 3 blade Montecs fill my needs nicely. You may have to touch the G5's up a bit when new ( I use a diamond hone ).

I hunt in the rain of the Pac NW, where rust can be a constant problem as winter weather becomes a constant factor on the Pacific Coast of WA state. I have found the 1 piece Stainless construction of the G5 handles that issue nicely.

Regardless of broadhead chosen, a high quality arrow is the other part of the equation... Black Eagles are a good choice.

Have fun with the new bow, you have chosen a great model and manufacturer.
