I have a Cub that I installed the ADF scope rail on and when I did I noticed the retention spring is attached differently than my Matrix. Instead of it being on the bottom of the scope rail it was attached directly to the top of the trigger box.
Is there a different length retention spring for the bows using ADF versus those that don’t? It appears longer since it attaches further back.
Any info or part numbers for the springs would be helpful.
Thanks,
Z

Be very careful with the new mounting screws. They may be too short. You might need to go get some stainless screws 1/8" longer.

Just seems to be quite long with it mounted forward on the ADF.BrotherRon wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 4:34 pmStill the same.. it just attaches in a different spot is all
It’s probably 1 to 1.5” back from the string at brace

Re: Guardian ADF question
There is a shorter one available. It comes on the bulldog style bows. They typically need the scope an inch ahead, and the scope rail is longer as well.Z-Rider wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 8:52 pmJust seems to be quite long with it mounted forward on the ADF.BrotherRon wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 4:34 pmStill the same.. it just attaches in a different spot is all

Re: Guardian ADF question
When you remove and relocate the hold down spring you will need to very carefully remove the thin piece of rubber material that isolates it from scope base and re-use it in the same manner, but on the opposite side of the hold down spring... pretty easl peasy... just try not to tear the rubber and don't loose those small screws... a little blue loctite on each screw goes a long way, but insures they will stay tight after assembly.
Don't over-do it when re-tightening as those shallow allen head screws tend to strip out where the wrench goes in pretty easily.

Re: Guardian ADF question
I just swapped out my stock scope mount for the ADF mount also. I experienced the same issue. Now the bolt retention piece sits only 1.75" from string at correct brace ht. Was also wondering if this will be a problem with shooting . Also, I noticed that on some of my bows the retention piece is only6.5" long as opposed to the 7" one that came with my Matrix 310, which is the bow in question.

Re: Guardian ADF question
My bow is the same way after installing the ADF and the bow shoots perfectly fine! Doesn’t effect the arrows or the shot nor accuracy.

Thanks bigbowman! I was a little worried. Now I can take it out tomorrow for a test shoot. Never fired before. Just got it a couple days ago.
