Lubricate(?)
I found here a video about maintenance a exalibur crossbow: (about 10 minutes)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h130NHrDeI0
The person in this clip is telling that he don't use lubricate for the rail, but a rag with a littlebit of oil.
Later, he tells that when lubricate comes in the center of the string it is bad for the serving.
Curious what you guys think about this?

Re: Lubricate(?)
Some pretty good conversation on this subject just last week. I personally don't lube the rail..

Re: Lubricate(?)
As soon as I saw him cock it to wax the string, I stopped watching. I want to keep my fingers thank you! Remember what you're told in gun safety courses? Don't trust the safety? I wouldn't point a gun at anyone with it loaded (or unloaded) with the safety on.
I wax my string loops before installation and the rest of the string after.

Janesy: thanks for the link. Silicone spray is a nice option too, I think.
Boo: you're right, safety first!

Snot, he saw wear on the serving, as it started to come apart".
X10 with Boo, on waxing string, "NOT WHEN COCKED". Maybe that is why you can't reply.

Re: Lubricate(?)
too much oil type of rail lube will cause serving to separate, i know from experience i now use dry silicone spray on a rag then wipe rail.

The way the guy in that video was sticking his hands and arms in the triangle of pain and slinging those broadheads around while “sharpening” them makes you wonder if his forum handle is stumpy.

Re: Lubricate(?)
after my research on here, I've decided to start using dry silicone spray on a rag, and just wiping it down. I read this forum a lot and have decided these guys have done the trial and error enough to know best. This forum is the reason I bought an Excalibur to start with. Thanks a lot gang.
