A few still dont get it!

Post by elkaholic »

First hand experience from in-law.

Small town n. Wisc.

While picking up some supplies at local butcher shop.

Guy walks in and tells the shop owner he wants everything in the beef display case.
The butcher politely tells the man he won't sell it to him.
Guy starts ranting, hes got the cash and basically demanding the butcher sell him all the beef.
Butcher trys to tell him its not fair to his other customers.
They go back and forth
Butcher was willing to take an order for a few days later but not sell his whole case now.
Guy gets pissed off , loud ,cussing etc.

At this point the guy was asked to leave and didnt get anything.

True story. Always a few , who just dont get it!

Guess he had just come up to his summer cottage from big city.

It has come to that . We live on a island and have limit supplies and the summer people have come here and loaded up on supplies and went back home on the next ferry . we have no hospital within 90 miles and are limited to health care . I must say some folks are being great about coming over for infected counties .

Just heard, first case if the virus in town. Thanks to summer travelers. Gov. Wisc. Told travelers to just stay put. Less chance of spreading.

Wonder if it was meat guy

Told inlaws to at least try to take extra precautions.

We just got a box of home grown organic fruits, veggies from local farm.

Temps gonna be in 80s all next week. I'd really like to make a trip fishn.

Our town put an end to hoarding. Limits on products in the grocery stores, and butcher shops have been imposed to prevent it. Went and did our bi-monthly grocery shopping and it was pleasant. Still a few shortages but no wheres near as bad as two weeks ago. Sad to say it's necessary, but here we are.

Chances are he was not going to use it him self or give it to people who really need it . He was going to sell it at a huge profit ! NOT COOL !

4650 cases in michigan now 111 deaths, what will it take to get people to stay home :?: my mom works at a store and people come in and buy their "essential" items, she told me a good amount of people show up to buy tobacco products and lottery tickets then leave :wtf:

My eldest daughter is nurse, she has been tested because she was recently exposed. She has my granddaughter to look after, and freaks out about how poorly people are following social distancing. My youngest daughter lives a 3 minute hike from me, and I have not hugged her in two weeks, not to mention my granddaughter, and eldest. The kids in my little area play for about an hour outside each day, and get close to one another, but they are not putting us elder folks at risk. I threw a box of chocolate bars from Dairy Queen to the boys today from my garage, it was in our freezer for over a month. Anyway, please be safe, someone said these two lines here, I'm going to try to be verbatim, but remember, you control you!

"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you".

" You can't beat common sense into some people no matter how big the hammer is".

Be safe everyone! Wash the hands, keep safe distances, and only do what you have to do outside of the house. This will pass, and we that survive will be thankful.

I just read an article about rural vs urban living concerning survival rates. It stated that over 50% of the counties in the US have no ICUs. It also stated that there are less hospital facilities per capita. The article had predictions that the fatality rate will be greater in rural areas and come weeks later than the urban areas. It said, the rural areas won’t be spared either.
However, living in a very rural area, I think self sufficiency and less congestion is a plus though.

People don’t come here to vacation either. :)
