What to do

Post by lituani »

Vortex, Matrix 380, Matrix 355 all dialed in! Taken deer with Vortex, and time to break-in the Matrix 380.

Archery opens Friday, 01October, here in Michigan. Thursday nite forecast is perfect (47F) and will get those deer moving on-schedule in the morning.

But, I've got a north Ontario moose hunt scheduled 18-23October. Planning on taking the Matrix 380 (in addition to Rem 7mm mag). If we fill our bull tag, will be plenty o' meat for our foursome.

Should I wait until after moose camp to begin harvesting venison, or should I put my Matrix 380 through its paces over the next 2 weeks?

What to do?

Deer are funny. Sometimes you get many many opportunities in a season and sometimes A LOT less. Go get ya some venison!

We wait sooo long for deer season. I'd say get after it. If you run out of freezer space try canning some, it's delicious! Or find someone who loves venison but can't go out and get it anymore and fill their freezer!
Either way good luck with the moose and all of your fall hunts.
