Thanks folks, the blood around the brain is being pooled away with a drainage tube and that makes a world of difference. I have learned a lot of stuff about the brain, more than I think is necessary.

Excellent news! Hope the remainder of your recovery goes well. Being on the bench this time of year sucks!

You can bet that Gunther will be just about doing backflips when he sees Dan come through the door!

For some reason this forum stopped working on my phone. Anyway, I was released last night, I'm home which feels great. My pup went totally crazy which was cool, he obviously missed me. I have a long road to complete recovery, and normally I'm running around like my arse is on fire, so it's an adjustment. My wife told me that if she sees me looking at my to do list, it will result in a thumping! Thanks again guys for your concerns, and I'm trying to get caught up with hunting stories, etc.
So, here is what happened. I bumped my head really hard working in the garage, no blood, or anything. Next day I had a headache worse than anything I have ever felt. Later that day, vomiting started, and we became concerned of a concussion. We went to the ER and with my conditions they wasted no time getting a brain scan. I had two bleeds from my brain, and there was a pool of blood pushing against my skull which accelerated swelling. The team there in the ICU was great, they had a meeting with me and the family to go over the procedure, and the risks involved. Right now the most important thing is REST. The after surgery review showed a successful result, and they put a temporary drain through my skull. Over two days a pint or more was drained. As with most health concerns time is of the utmost importance.
I hope you all are doing well, and enjoying the season. I probably won't hunt at all this year, but things could be worse. A few folks asked if it is alright to call me. Yes but try to do that around 6 pm CT. I won't stay on the line long so please don't think I don't want to talk to you.

As said Dan it is indeed a crappy time to have this happening...unfortunately hunting is your favorite hobby 😉 but take in the big picture that your ok.
Don't count the season out just yet you never know we could get nice weather even in late season and you could get out but for now try to keep buisy and enjoy your family and your pup. Love ya !
God brought you Gunther for a reason !!! I'm not the most religious person out there but I do believe there is a destiny and plan of sorts and what goes around comes around and your a good person so nothing is coming but good.
