I went to Cabela’s yesterday afternoon to pick up a new string changer and noticed they no longer come with the plastic tube that protects the string.
Does anybody know of a source for buying these tubes?

Re: Plastic Tube On String Changer
I've never once been able to get the cocking rope hooks over that plastic tube. So I've always just slid it out of the way, and eventually just threw the plastic tube in the trash. Same thing for all 3 I've bought over the years.

Just go to any hardware store and buy some vinyl tubing. That's all it is.

It's a useless PIA. Have the center served and be done with it.

Hey Don, PIA?
I like the idea of having the center served. That's a great tip!

You don't need anything fancy. I use regular crossbow serving but braided serving will do fine

I did what Don recommends a few years back, man, it works like a charm!! No more fighting that plastic tube.

Might want to look into the stringer that Dan Miller makes, you'll throw the whole thing in the trash!
