Da Bear!
Well, I got to go on a bear hunt. It was in Saskatchewan in the Porcupine region. It was a remote camp where you stand on one foot and beg for a connection. Big time bear country and the guide had a colored bear on camera that showed itself. The name of the outfitter is Dahl Creek Outfitters. I hunted with them last year and only seen small black bears. He said that the elk kill was high so he thought that the big bear were on the elk and chased the small ones away. I went again this year because the place is a bear haven.
So, the first day I saw nothing. The second day I went at 1:00 pm and sat till 9;30. At 4;00 this guy showed up. He gave one looke around and laid down and started licking the oats that were out. I am on a drug that keep my heart rate no higher than 90 so normally my heart would be pounding and i'd be shaking a bit but not this time. I started to turn my lighted pins on in my scope and realized that I was screwing off my battery cover. Damn, I carefully screwed it back on without dropping the battery thank goodness. Now I turned the light on and and put the twenty yard on his lung and let loose. That bear took off straight away and went 10 yards and then turned almost end for end and came back and all went quiet. Then I heard him cough a couple of times and nothing. Well the guide wants you to stay in the tree but after two hours I had enough and came down. Went and found the arrow bured deep int the ground which I couldn't get out. I tuned and looked the direction that he went and there he was twenty yards away, dead. Got to look him over and he was cinnimon and had a big head. Ended up being 371 pounds.
One other got a smaller bear and the third passed because he was looking for a colored to. All in all it was a great time had by all.

Re: Da Bear!
That a pretty nice big bear Aging, I confess I'm drooling at the custom Scorpyd stock you made for yourself.
Congratulations on your bear and short recovery.

Thanks Norm, it was mostly luck that I got a chance at him. He also had a pic of him that was four miles away so he roamed a lot.

Re: Da Bear!
Congrats on the bear. Comparing the two heads yours is much larger. As Norm said that is a good looking stock on that bow. Are you going to have a rug made? Again congrats!!

Re: Da Bear!
Going to have a half mount on it. Was going with a shoulder mount till the taxidermist said the chest markings be lost. He suggested a half mount.
