Royal City Bowmen (Guelph ON.) crossbow shoot

Post by Pete »

Greetings,
I just wanted to correct the OAA 2005 Tournament directory submission regarding the May 29th, 2005 shoot at the Royal City Bowmen archery club near Guelph, ON.

This tournament will be a combined crossbow and traditional ONLY. Many of you will remember that the course is set up as two loops so the crossbow shooters will not overlap with the traditional shooters at any point in the day..

For your shooting pleasure, we have recently invested in a bedded moose and bedded ram target (imported from western Canada) As well, we own two dinosaurs and the full African series plus many of the more interesting targets available.

Keep this correction in mind. Also, our main shoot is still May 22, as advertised.

Thanks and bye for now,
Peter

WABI rules in effect at Royal City Bowmen crossbow shoot

Post by Pete »

Sorry for the long delay...

Yup, the crossbow shoot we've scheduled for May 29, 2005 will follow the rules outlined by Wabi. We have had requests from disabled shooters and we are happy to accomodate. We're also out to make it a fun, but challenging, event.

The shoot this coming weekend will be a combined traditional and crossbow 3D shoot. To avoid any slow downs, we'll separate the long bow shooters from the horizontal bow shooters on different sections of the course and make it is both interesting and challenging for each.

On a separate note, we supported the new "Hunter" class where max of 5 pins and 12" stabilizers allowed on only vertical bows. I think its a great idea but it may take some time before it catches on.

The bedded moose target across the pond was a big hit. All the targets Royal City owns now have 12 rings, too.

Hope this helps and I hope to see you out on Sunday.

Bye for now,
Pete
