"SNAKES"
"SNAKES"
Can anyone tell me the situation with Venamous Snakes in Northern America, specifically around "ONTARIO".
Are they not a problem that far north, cos I never hear of any snake encounters here on the forum!
I have no fear of snakes, having once kept Boas & a Reticulated Python when I was younger & a lot stupider....."Kept Gettin Bit"but did'nt DIE!!!
Just wondering what I could expect to find in Ontarios Wilderness!!!

A few years ago I was in Caledon by the Forks of the Credit. It was a sunny day and I was walking along a trail back to my car.
I saw this snake laying in the middle of the trail suning it's self and I gave it a poke with my rod. This snake came right at me and I did a "tactical retreat". It sur looked like a Massasauga Rattlesnake and I found out later that you can still find the odd one in Southern Ontario.

I like snakes myself, they want nothing to do with humans and won't strike unless you step on it or you try to annoy it. If it were not for snakes eating rodents and other pests vermin would overrun everything. Just watch where you are going and step around them.

Never seen a poisonous snake in Ontario, ever.
Although there are some rattlers in the Bruce Penninsula, they are even rare there. The odd garter snake you come across in the rest of Ontario are harmless and small. Not nearly big enough to scare you. Kinda pretty really. I used to have a whole collection of them as a kid.
If I was concerned about something dangerous in these woods, I'd learn how to identify poison ivy.

HOSS,
That's the whole reason that I'm looking "NORTH OF THE BORDER"

Rattlers are seriously BAD FOR ONE'S HEALTH!!!!!!
One Guy was laid up for 8-weeks in a hospital bed, fighting for his life....his hand all swoll up like a WATERMELON.....SWOLL ??? That is how you guys say it RIGHT!!!!
.....
Anyway this guy lived, and came back to the centre that treated him to thank everyone, and the doctor showed him the video of himself strapped to the bed, convulsing .....and he broke down in tears.
This guy could'nt believe he was looking at himself,he was just so
that......THE MAN IN THE BIG HOUSE was'nt ready for him YET!!!!!!
