My son's Compound Buck..
...........and his story...
"I got an 11 pointer this morning around 7:40 a.m. I didn't have a lot of confidence with the temperature being around 65 degrees. About 6:30 I saw a 2 1/2 year old 7 pointer searching for does. I figured with as warm as it was that he would be the only deer I would see. Around 7:40 I heard a deer walking toward me. With a tree between us I couldn't see the buck till he got about 25 yards from me. When I first saw him I knew he was a shooter. He was walking a path that would take him behind my tree. I knew if he stayed on it it was gonna be a tough shot. Fortunately he turned a walked right in front of me. I shot him at 15 yards and he took off like a race horse. I saw him fall about 100 yards away. I called my Dad (Woody) and he brought his camera. After our hunting buddy John Trout finished with his morning hunt he helped with the dragging and gutting.
My Dad has bragged about my hunting successes many times on this board and others. Without him I sure I wouldn't hunt and enjoy the outdoors like I do now. I owe everything to him."
