Kendo I am not picking on you personally, but you and others say that this suit is a RIPOFF or a PIECE OR %$#^$%#^. Mainly beccause you have read an artical or do not believe in it. Many people say they wash in scent free soaps and shampoos. Are they truely scentfree, I personally do not believe that they are when you put it into the text of the ability of an animals nose, espically a deer. Just because you can not smel it, does not mean that it is scent free to another animal.

The scent-lock suit does work, it is not perfect nor does it eliminate all of the scent. As stated earlier in this thread, I tested it the best way that I could. That was with my beagle. This dog had a great nose, he has picked up the scent of a peanut, yes a peanut, that was burried by a squirel in the earth, while the dog was running on top of the ice crust above a foot of snow.

Now this dog and I played a game in his training as a pup, that was to find me in the bush, teaching him to follow my and his own scent. Well unfortantly he also kept that up when hunting, if the dogger was not with him. If he picked up my scent, he would come right to me.

Well when I was in the suit one day when he was down wind of me, he knew I was around, but had an extreem difficulty finding me. Normally he would be able to come to me very quickly. To me this means that alot of the scent is eliminated by the suit. No doubt, if I did not have the suit on, the dog would have been there quickly.

The good thing about this world is that many people have very different tastes. This creates variety in what is produced and in what people use.

Don't let them get you stirred up Tom, all we need to do is get one of these guys to stay alive long enough so they can tell us if they knew were we where at. crap, shower, spray, scentlocks, outerwear, weapon, spray is my routine if I want to get close and not spoke these guys as the wind is to unpredictable in my area of hills and valleys to go stealth. I'm sure Hoss will agree with this.Image

well Cyclone I cant argue with that buck you got there...nice one for sure..great job...that was a good day..Ive had plenty good and bad days getting busted for one reason or another.. I will say Bucks make mistakes to and just when i think Ive made to much noise I aint gonna see a thing I be dame if a deer dont come by..SO who knows..I sat my wife were I know the wind stays constant enough she wont get busted and she gets shots at plenty deer and I know she smells pretty...I stop usein scented soap sprays ect long before opening day and then I have my rituals I go thru like you.and then i go get me a deer for the fridge...Its all in what you have confidence in! that stuff works but to what degree..who cares! If it makes you confident wear it..there is no right or wrong in anyones rituals we do what we do by experience. we hopefully learn from our mistakes and go on..Like me and Lonewolf was talkin today hell it takes me 3 to 4 years to really pattern a big buck in his core area..then I may never see him again..the biggens are smart and if thats what im after I relly on every experience ive had to help me get close..I have no faith in scent lock of anykind because one puff of my ass and Its over. That buck goes nocturnal and I may never know it..so I religously play the wind and terrain and thermals and creeks and rain and what i know about them critters against them....I say all that to say this...IF you buy scent lock more power to ya good luck..BUT be smart its a backup plan at best play the wind number 1 and hope that you dont have to rely on that suit if the wind gods are against you....If your on to a biggin and then you never see it again just remember alot of things clue them in smell, noise, anything outs position or moved or cut in their core areas. use all your tricks and put a priority on the wind.. learn from your mistakes and be patient above all..
Dedicated.... ta all the sweet Bucks yet ta die!

You are right Hoss, be patient, play the wind and make your own luck if you have to. My brother and I waited for the right wind direction for a valley push as I set up in a natural funnel area as he pushed into the wind and I was set up with the wind at my back. 13 deer crossed by me before this guy and the one we were really after, was a 16 point drop and was a 9 point drop when he came sneaking through as he had already lost is other side. This 10 was right behind him. If we would have played the wind the correct way they would have busted out over open fields going mach 1. Instead we made our own luck. Not the first time and God willing not the last.

I think they are a rip off but it does not stop me from throwing them in the flower scented dryer and pretending it will help when I am down on my luck. Down on my luck means not paying attention to the deer signs and wind direction.
I always pay attention to the wind ! ..... but no matter how carefull you are with wind direction it does change off and on during the day ....

I like to get real high in my climber ( 30 feet + ) ..... so scent isn't much of an issue at that height .

I'm real carefull with the wind while I'm on the ground ..... I stalked and took a nice doe at 10 yards late this season .... the wind was strong in my favor or it wouldn't have happend ....

Pretty hard to fool a deers nose ..... so you got to be carefull !

Like I said before ...... I beleive 50 % of what I read and 100 % of what I experience !

For example .... I have read tons of articles and testimonials that says Tinks 69 is crap !

But 90 % of the bucks I have taken took their last breath of the stuff before I passed an arrow thru them !

I think some guys think , you are going to put on a scent lock suit and it becomes a buck magnet ! ...... When I have used it , it has been another step in my scent reduction routine ! ..... do I think it is a must ? , no ..... nothing beats a good set up when it comes to wind direction .

When the buck ( in the previous post picture ) walked up behind me years back .... I froze .... I could even here him breathing ! ..... he walked right by me , an arms length away and didn't react until I raised my arm and took his picture ..... I have another picture on the wall a home of a monster 10 point doing the same thing approx 10 feet away ! .... both times I was wearing the scent lock suit .... so that is what I based my findings on ......

Then again ...... I once won $ 27000.00 CND playing Black Jack one weekend , while I was wearing a game vest and my Excalibur hat ( not exactly the attire one wears at the Casino ) ..... we had just been at a 3D shoot and stopped at the Casino on the way home .....

Do I wear that game vest and Excalibur hat when I go to the Casino now ? Much to my wifes disappointment .... Yes !!
