RJ, I am truly very sad to hear about Sally. I have a feeling she was one of your greats and will hang in your memories to the end. I know that these little friends are here for us but when they leave they tear us apart badly. As I type this I am shedding tears for you and Sally, not the passing but the separation. I am sure you will miss the all the smells, the feel of her fur, the looks she gave you, the groans when you rubbed her stomach the life in her eyes and the devotion she gave without question. I really do understand how you feel. I remember on one post you were describing Sally sitting beside you and how you felt looking at her and knowing the end was not far away. You did a great thing for her RJ, to have her out hunting all the time and on her last day. I am a big suck hole when it comes to dogs and I know you are too. Sally blessed you as you blessed her with love. What more can a boy and a dog want?
As Roy Rogers said, if there are no dogs in heaven, I want to go where they went. I'm with Roy, my dogs are all I want if there is an after-life. Nothing or no one every loved me as much as my dogs.

Some people just like stepping on rakes
Rick,
I don't seem to be able to find any words that will express what I know many of us feel at your loss, and ours - as I feel Sally's passing is a loss to all of us that have shared the hunts through your pictures.
I will hold her memory close in respect for her love of the hunt, and offer a prayer to Creator to watch over her spirit and be with you and your family.

R.J.,
I'm truly sorry to hear of your loss. What a fine tribute you put together for her. I'll bet Sally is in heaven right now thinking about what a great hunting partner she left behind.

My wife and I send our thoughts and prayers for this difficult time, you should be very proud of the wonderful life she lived. I am sure she loved every day in the field and would not have wanted it any other way. Truly a great tribute to a great companion.

Sorry for your loss of a wonderful friend and companion. I have been a dog owner all my life this sounds hard but i have allways went out and got a new puppy on a loss of one of my dogs. For me it gets me through the pain! and as you watch your new puppy go through her learning curve you will see her do things that brings back memories of the dog you lost and it brings a smile and nice memories. We all grieve in our own way this works for me. Our prayers are with you and your family
