For me it's either Joe Satriani or Sonny Landreth. Both of them are guitar virtuosos, and after tagging out on a window sill yesterday I need all the inspiration to improve my shooting that I can get.

P.S. If you're a fan of good rockin' Blues but you've never heard of Sonny Landreth then I recommend you give him a listen. Great stuff!

My music tastes are far reaching. I used to play in a rock band while in college. It was the sixties and life was wild with protests and free love.

That crazy guy who was playing Young Rascals and Moody Blues now plays children's songs for all his grandchildren. As Dylan said, the times they are a changing.

Here is one you may not know about. Eva Cassidy. She is died in 1996.

She really didn't become known so much until after she died.

She is well worth a listen.

I like all kinds of rock. However I make a special point not to turn up the volume during hunting season. Working in a loud factory setting has degraded my hearing some, even with hearing protection. I rely on my hearing during my deer hunting season. Maybe there is something wrong with me at 45, but I still like loud rock. Just not duing hunting season.

What Enormous said. I have amazing hearing considering the punishment I've put it through.

I love all forms of rock but on the way to the hunt I like Johnny Cash, Willie, or Stompin Tom. It brings me back and reminds me of other times and long ago hunts. My buddies won't drive to the hunt with me anymore...

Oh and it's gotta be quiet. I don't like arriving in the woods with my ears ringing. It's disorienting.

I listen to CBC Radio One on the way out to the forest and Classic Rock on the way home. I like early ZZTop, Ozzy, Led Zepplin, the Who and occasionally Charlie Daniels.

"While My Guitar Gently Unleashes Fury" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9QL0Jkb_GU Paul Gilbert has become my favourite. Incredible guitar player!!!

Hard rock, electric guitar-based music. KISS, Overkill, Megadeth, Black Label Society, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Mr. Big, Ted Nugent, etc.

There's something about a killer guitar riff and solo that just gets me going. Just wish I was as good with a real guitar as I am with my air guitar!! :D
