looks like a great little knife to open up and skin a deer with..did you make it with an old blade from one of them old reciprocating saws?
Yes it was an old reciprocating saw blade. We had one of the smaller ones in the shop that I use to work at but one time we got some larger blades for it. We cut them down to work with our saw and I always kept the drops to use for knives.
Sax I liked your knife too but did not remember the blade being made from a file. Might have to try that someday. I need to learn to make a sheath like yours too!
Mike P, I like your knives too and how you have the brass tang on them. Also like the differences in the handles. I've made some before from Walnut.

Wow Vix, thats a long ways back to remember. But I seem to recall the material was called "Mikada" or something similar.
The material is all white.
I used a propane torch to put in those brown finish touches. That much I do remember.
The knife on the bottom is very special to me. I made that for my Dad for Christmas in 1966. Thirty years later he had it in its sheath and on his belt the day he died.

I'm afraid groundpounder that my knives are but humble attempts when compared to the spectacular knife you show us here.
