Corn works great once the crops are off and the snow is on the ground. Too much choice for me to bother baiting now. I'll let the farmers bait for me.

According to the Angler & Hunter Hotline found in Ontario out of Doors "an unforseen delay in implementing the regulation has provided retailers with the necessary lead time that OFAH argued for
in the first place , with the ban to likely take effect in 2011." p.11 of the supplement.

So what is the true state of affairs? Can we or can we not use deer part attractants this year?

I have tried a lot of different stuff over the years but the only thing that I can say that allways works for me is putting out corn

The best Buck attractant you can get is a Hot Doe! Period!

But barring having a hot doe near your stand all the time during hunting season, things that I've seen attract deer include:

Bananas
Apples
Peanut Butter (the best IMHO)
Powdered Sugar
Brown Sugar
Syrup
Soybeans
Corn

The second best attractant I've used is Sweat Feed. The type you buy and feed to cattle and horses. This stuff is a mixture of products, mainly crushed corn and alfalfa pellets coated with molasses. Just pour it out and once they get a taste of it, they're hooked. Also much cheaper than the "deer food" or "deer supplement" variety!

Another way I've attracted deer is to take the lid of a big peanut butter jar and screw it to a tree. I then cut the bottom out of the jar and screw the jar to the tree. Now they have a place where they can stand and like the PJ jar.

Oh, btw, I've had good success with C'mere deer in most locations. There have been a few where they ignored it. I really think it has to do with your local soil condition.
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4
