I going to be buying one of the entry level savages and doing just that!
Make sure I get an invite.
You know that you never need to wait for an invitation Chris!

Not to long ago the MNR was thinking of extending the season and in the end decided against it. Now a year or so later I think most will agree that Deer numbers APPEAR to be down in Ontario and the season remaining unchanged has been a good thing. But it still suks thats its over :?

I hear what you say. My feelings also. I only deer hunt, mid September to season end January 9.
Same here. I started hunting with my Exocet in '97 and haven't hunted anything but deer with my bow since then. I do shoot a few coyotes with my .223 from my garage window though. Gary

For some reason I never get down about the end of the season. I really enjoy planning for the next one alot. Planning where to hunt be it a guided hunting trip in my dreams or for real. What the deer did the past season and what I can do the next. I love the anticipation the second to the deer final approach. 8)

I feel your pain.

My season kinda fizzled to a close in mid November. It sucked.

We were allowed only one deer here, and after I had taken mine, I waited for my son to come with me to party hunt. He was really busy with work and didn`t have much time, so we only got out once or twice. Maybe the withdrawl was less painfull that way, but it still hurt.

Now I`ll be occupying my time with ice fishing and a complete bathroom reno ..... Not nearly as good.

I unstrung my Excocet and QueenBee's Vixen yesterday 'cause it'll be at least 4 months before they're shot again :( .

On the bright side, my second hunting season is already underway; WABBIT SEASON! :D

I am removing the string and the pads from my Equinox this morning and putting her to rest :( until spring turkey time :D
I had a bad year hunting in 2010 with 0 Turkey, 0 Black Bear, 0 Deer and I did not go Moose hunting this year but still purchased a tag to keep me in pool "A" for next years planned Moose Hunt, at least the M.N.R. got their monies worth out of me this year!
I purchased a Fox Pro Spitfire and plan on going after coyotes with my Mini 14, hopefully that and ice fishing will keep me busy over the winter months :?:

Happy New Year everyone

Like crow hunting better than anything. Just something I don't like about them! Lots of them around and can hunt them anyday through the year. Also enjoy bowfishing carp in the river. Deer is not my favorite because it means the end of summer has come.

Ours ends Jan. 15 and I'm already having withdrawl symptoms. I started thinking about going over to Arkansas and hitting some of my old stomping grounds up in the Ozarks.

When you're up on those ridges and you can hear the cold wind whipping through the valley, it seems like you're the only one left in the world! (if you get far enough back in there that is  )

Not only does their bow season run through Feb, but my Buck counter would be reset and I could take two or maybe even more depending on where I hunted! :D

Plus, they allow crossbows to be used as well! Another bonus

Now, I just have to find the time to go!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4
