Hi Scott,
These string weights you gave. Is that with the angel unwaxed (string 1), and 2&3 waxed ?
String#1 133.5 grains
String#2 125.5 grains
Excal Fast Flight 121.5 grains

Dash . . .the weights on string #1 and string #2 are straight out of the bag from Don. The weight on the Fast Flight is after being reserved twice and waxed several times. I didn't get a new Fast Flight string, just using the one I have on hand.
I just weighed them again after all the shooting and the weights are the same.
I'm heading out now to do another round of speed testing.
It's a beautiful day here in Georgia!

Speed test #2 . . .now that the strings are broken in, it was easy to maintain my brace height. The weather is about the same . . .sunny and 72 degrees. I am using the same arrows. I did have a reporting error on the Fast Flight Flemish and it's corrected . . .the speed in test one was 325.2, not 327.2 . . .just noticed the error and I corrected it.
String #1 . . .324.8 FPS and it was very consistant, most coming in at a flat 325 FPS
String #2 . . .327.4 FPS, same thing most every shot came in at 328 FPS . . .first two shots were 325 & 326, after that it was all 328 with one 329.
Fast Flight . . .324 FPS, the FPS ranged from 322-326FPS
I shot all arrows at the center of the target . . .lost one nock in the process . . .but, got more consistant readings in the chrony.

Re: Boo strings . . .review
Scott, are any of the strings (your Boo string included) better in terms of brace height?
Some people just like stepping on rakes
Re: Boo strings . . .review
String 1 & 2 sound pretty good. Although Fast flight makes for a fast string and is very easy to work with, I don't like the extra shock and noise you get from it compared to other materials. Its good to see some new materials performing in the same speed range but with better stability and shock dampening properties.

I'm assuming you mean, maintaining the brace height?Boo wrote:Scott, are any of the strings (your Boo string included) better in terms of brace height?
That's hard to determine when shooting/testing multiple strings because I'm not leaving the string on the bow for more than 20-30 shots. I've been trying to get a good feel for each string and getting some shots on both so I could do another speed test.
I also want to do a sound test . . .got to get my daughter to download the app to her smart phone. Anyone use a sound meter on a smart phone that they like? If so, then supply me a link, please.
In the shooting, I did keep a close eye on the brace height. Both string #1 and #2 creeped very little after the initial adjustment. I have not adjusted either much more than 1/2" . . .if that. The creep is so little, it's not much of a concern.
I left string #1 on the bow overnight and had to adjust it 2 turns. I have string #2 on the bow tonight . . .I'll see what it takes tomorrow to get it back to the brace height.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

Re: Boo strings . . .review

These are the same material as Scott's except 40 strands, the blue/black weighed in at 165gr tan/green 155gr this should give you a idea of the difference, the b/b string had very little stretch less than a qt inch to get it back to 1 1/8 brace height, neither string has whiskers but with a sts took care of any loudness , didn't notice any shock difference. After I knew it had settled in, it shot a steady 346fps with a 350gr arrow, nothing to sneeze at when you consider the size of this string,
The g/b string had a little more stretch and it too wasn't awful loud with minimum amount of shock. With the same brace height this girl averaged out a 349fps this surprised me the astro-flight string had to set on the bottom line to get 350fps with the same arrow, I think these are a little better
