Thanks for the advice. I just shot 10 arrows. Shooting well again. There is no noise when cocking now. I am wondering now just how long that splinter has been there without me knowing about it. I checked it out at full cock and it lays in place without sticking out. I am going to leave it as is unless it gets worst.

Get ahold of Dan before it becomes an issue during hunting season .

We had a dryfire incident this past weekend resulting in a good sized splinter - Danny just ripped off the splinter, and we kept on shooting the bow with no change in POI. I was impressed!

That splinter was 7" - 8" long and it still shot perfect groups after the dryfire.

Shot with someone on Saturday who had a small mishap and string came off. I was amazed at his shooting all morning. Don't believe he missed a targat all day. After the mishap and we got string back on bow it was not shooting the same. No doubt a extra twist of string either way can knock a bow out at 30 yards.

Happens so easy during hunting season .
You are exhausted because you just dragged a deer out . You set the bow beside the truck to load the deer , take your camo off , take a long drink of water . Jump in truck and then CRUNCH !!!

Send both to Danny now, you'll have them back in 3-4 days, no worries, no problems. He'll appreciate you beating the seasonal rush.

The RARE part of the equation is how many crossbows are run over and whizzed on in the same weekend!!!! be sure to tell Danny to wash his hands afterward. And bow was shooting well later in weekend!

I went ahead and contacted Excal in Canada by e-mail. I have decided to use the bow through bow season and then swap out the limbs as I have to return them with a RA # to get a new set. Deer season is about to open and I don't want to take a chance of being without as I have to use a cocker right now cause of shoulder surgery and I don't have one for my backup Parker Buck Buster.

I broke off the splinter on the limb and am back to shooting bullseyes again.
