After I was at Boostock and watched Don reserve a string I decided to make a string-serving jig. I made it pretty much like the one he used but made mine out of 2" sq. white oak since I had some and I am a carpenter by trade. I really figured a 2" sq. pc. of white oak for the bottom rail would hold anything. Well... The first attempt to reserve a string, and I can curl the white oak bottom rail up like a pretzel. I am going to make a truss looking base to keep it all straight and call it good, but I havent gotten around to that yet. It just amazed me how much stress you can put on that thing with some hooks and a small wrench.
