over the years i have tried several of the items stated above but was never completely satisfied with warmth and/or fit. tried the muck boots artic pro and am complely satisfied with warmth/fit and they are light weight and easy to walk in, they are a bit pricey to some but well worth it imo. i found them on amazon com for $133 plus shipping, anyplace else they were from$159-$179. i cud have bought several pair of the arctic pro with the money wasted on other boots/boot insulators

Why do people find it hard to believe that it gets cold in Georgia? I see this a lot on different forums. I found it to be a lot warmer at -10F in Colorado than it usually is here at 25F. Just a different type cold. One that makes you shivver really hard.

Minus 20 is not what I expect to see in Georgia. The middle of Georgia is only 750 miles away from the center of Cuba! Now comes the stupid question, do you have ice fishing in Georgia?

Not much Boo. Global warming has taken over. When I was younger I saw lakes frozen over to the extent that a car could be driven over them. Snow over a few inches and light ice on lakes is more the norm today. It still gets cold though. Not as often as it use to but cold is COLD......even if only a few days at a time.

And by the way, my post says 25 degrees. Not minus 25.

It is all in the sock good air circulation or not can make or break a good pair of boots.
Is a sock going to make an uninsulated boot warm no but you must have an appropriately rated boot and the correct sock system to work together.

My Smart Wool socks cost $30 a pair but worth every penny

Kathy bought me a pair of lemigo boots (R2BXTREME) and i really like them they are size 11 rated to -70-C and weigh about a pound makes you think your wearing running shoes going buy the weight there is holes in the bottoms so when your feet sweat the moisture goes there instead of staying in the liner. have the artic sheild booties but they don,t fit over the boot and have heard of poeple that take there boots off and just put the booties on when they get in there stand!

Dereck I agree. I use the Smart Wool socks along with their black liner sock.
Makes a big difference even with my old boots.
Again Muck Boots--Artic Pro.
Can't beat the comfort and they are warm.
