I have no complaints ... Love the compact set-up and balance > Sighted it in > Average # of shots out of it .

1st hunt test = It did the job on a nice Tom @ 35 yards > whistled a Carbon Diablo with a 130 grain Wasp Broadhead thru him from behind > game over > quick expiry > and first blood for my Matrix 380 .

(Excalibur Matrix 380 , Boo Custom String , Munch Mount , what a cool set up ... )

Hi Kevin,

No probs! I've actually been doing a lot of research on the Matrix 380 & quite a few people have been experiencing the same problem as you. It would be interesting to know what speed your bow would get with a 100gr field point. Please let me know if you ever get the chance to chrono it like that.

Congrats on your first kill Bronzeback! I was just wondering what difference the Boo string would make? And what other upgrades can be done without impacting on speed?

I recently purchased a Matrix 380 package and had to send the new tact zone scope back the windage adjustment dial was backwards. Excalibur promptly sent me a replacement scope which I mounted. It will shoot 2"inch groups at 20 yards but if I go to 30 yards it will shoot decent about 3" group with 3 arrows and when I shoot another 3 arrows from the same bench rest the arrows are all, over the place no consistency at all absolutley pathetic. I am using the diablo 18" bolts it came with and the 150gr field tips. I would never dream of using this crossbow for hunting no accuracy at all is anyone else having these issues? I have been hunting for 35 years so I know how to shoot from a bench in calm conditions. I keep reading how accurate these crossbows are supposed to be but not getting any results does anybody out there have any ideas? The bow itself looks fine no problems I can see.

Do a fastener check. Make sure everything is snug. Scope mount caused me the same issue with my 355. You Should be getting much tighter groups at twenty.

And carefully check over the bolts holding the scope to the rings. Had similar issues with my 380 due to only one of them being a tad loose. Described here: http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2 ... =1&t=48430

Since that fix, my Matrix now averages ~ 1 - 1.5" groups at 50 yards.

Something simple probably I'd guess. these bows are inherently very accurate.

Had the same problem with my 355 until I marked a cock feather.

I just received my 380 Blackout and I'm shooting the DIABLO arrows with 150gn field points that weigh in at 396.5 396.0, I have shot 10 arrows through it now with a constant speed of 350 FPS I had one go through at 344 but that's because I was real close to the Chrono all other shots were 3ft away from chrono. The only thing I did was to use a older rope cocker that was a little longer then the one that came with it, was easier to hook the string, I did however order a C2 cocker today for after my surgeries this July.

I'm totally happy with my Matrix 380, it's still 30fps faster then my Y25 and 40fps faster then my Turbo XLT.
I guess I could shoot 350gn arrows to get 380fps but that's pushing the limits with the 380.
