I've hung one if those cotton scent keys from a branch, soaked in vanilla extract with success.

I've also had some success with whizzin in a mock scrape.

And I've baited with all kinds of food. Corn, apples, carrots, oats, c'mere deer, planted wild flowers and they have worked but you feed more raccoons and squirells than anything else!

Go to your local farm feed store and get molasses(liquid) you buy it by the lb.Here in Ontario it is sold for around 50cents/lb and it works.I sometimes pour it over a small salt lick,deer come back to that spot year after year

Thru all of my yrs deer huntin the best attractant is another deer. Doesn't work fer me on my trails. I usually kill the 1st one that steps clear

I used to spit tobacco juice into mock scrapes for years and years, until I quit a few years back.

Corn is my standard tried-an-true deer feed/attractant. Not legal in many locations though. Not as effective in some places either. Places where the deer are sparse, best to hunt a heavy concentration of sign and not bother with feed. Places where the deer are hungry, I've had very good luck hunting over corn. BTW- joking about the mock scrape part.

I wouldnt make a practice out of it Im sure it wouldnt be long before it smells like a port a pottie under your tree Ill keep peein a bottle myself
