This seams a bit confusing, On my 405, If I set 1/4'' from the REDS as posted, I now get only 3/4'' brace height. The instructions with my 405 said to keep the brace height between 1-1.5in. which would increase the gap a lot higher for the REDS.
What do you do?

I installed washers on the REDS to bring them closer to the string, then tightened up the sets good. I added washers because the string can drive the REDS back into the riser creating more of a gap. M330

On my Equinox, the BH is 1 & 3/16" which gives a 1/8" gap between the string and the S5 rubbers face. I keep at least a 1/8" gap between the string & rubbers by adding CCW twists to either end of the string when necessary. I check this gap each & every time I use the CB. FWIW

The correct brace height for Matrix series bows is 1/2 to 1 inch according to the manual here (page 18): www.excaliburcrossbow.com/2014%20Owners ... 20rev1.pdf

The serving will twist with the string. Most servings are wrapped tight enough that the string under them wont turn much. even though the serving twists with the string it is still a good idea to turn each end 1/2 turn avery so often( 100 -200 shots) to help the serving wear evenly. :)

Thanks.
Once again I see the manual that came with my 405 is wrong!
