Thanks for the replies. Dang. Feel like I wasted my time on this now, so I guess I'll just buy the pliers next month. Oh well. I tried! Crossbow newbie here!

NO!! you didn't waste your time. tinkering is what makes this stuff fun and its how new things are created.
if you epoxy or superglue your nocks in that puller WILL work.
I still use mine from time to time. but I do see a set of Miller pliers n the future.

No time is ever wasted if you enjoy what you are doing or learn something. I think a lot of us go down the same path. Once you start shooting you quickly realize that you need something to pull the arrows back out safely, and the threaded puller is the easiest to make at home. I still have it and it works great at pulling a stubborn nock out when I am switching and arrow over to a luminock, but Danny's puller is in a different class altogether.

Keep trying new things, you never know when you might come up with the next big thing!

Thanks! I do love to tinker around and build my own stuff. I'm not giving up on my home-made puller, and it sounds like it might do something else I needed to figure out - how to get the nocks out so I can install lighted nocks for hunting! But that other puller you all are talking about has me very interested. I'm going to have to order one eventually.
All the best,
Glenn
