What a great thread...I like old school...this thread only speaks volumes of the high quality that the Excalibur name represents.

You guys & gals have heard this song before... about how much I love my old brown Vixen. We've put in so many miles together and shot so many targets over the past 10 years. I couldn't imagine giving her up.

I can't describe how it tore my heart out to see the limbs split this past summer after a dryfire at 3D. She'd survived so much over the years and just kept on faithfully shooting. So grateful that in spite of all the hard use (and the minivan) Excalibur replaced the limbs and she's good as new again.

Having said all that... someday I might be tempted by a Micro - just as a "back-up bow" of course! 8)

I'm afraid of that! It's not in the budget so there's no danger. We really need a new roof and probably will need to replace our old van this year.

Progress and new design required to keep up with the treadmill of latest greatest.
Some results are great, some not so much.
Excalibur crossed another threshold in bows with narrower wingspans and more.
Kudo's for that and in time I may be buying old school that are cutting edge today.
It does not strike me as old school as I lag behind advancements. Yet.
Proven design is comfortable for me. Heck old school bows still seem high tech to me.. Perhaps in time an upgrade will call but usually find something that works well and stick with it. Wanting to upgrade to another newer Excalibur is easy to understand though.
Tweaking is fun and follows the experience of former and current owners of similar bows so I don't feel too left out. L.o.l..
Still impressed with each shot that the equipment is fully capable.

I love my Phoenix. I will shoot this bow until the limbs fall off, then order another pair and shoot it some more! I don't foresee ever getting rid of it. Rock solid, accurate and very well built.

I am still shooting my Vortex even though I have been hunting lately with my M330. I will probably take my next deer with the Vortex again. :D

Not really that old but I have NO plans to change out my Equinox. Rugged, accurate, reliable & easy to maintain BUT I believe that could be said for all Excalibur CBs.

Its hard to consider my 2006 ExoMax as old school, but it certainly needs more room to stretch than a Micro.

I'm holding out for the ExoMax Macro. I'm thinking six inches wider than an ExoMax with a 22" power stroke. It should toss 28" arrows about 600 fps.

Still shooting my early 2000's Exocet 165 and deadly accurate as when new. Only upgrade was to a shadow zone scope but have noticed some splintering in the carved limbs and would like to investigate whether to replace with new carved limbs (if available) or upgrade to the mag tip limbs with the better selection of string. Is the the mag tip change out straightforward or does it require mods? Are the new limbs ordered directly from Excaliber?

I'm using an Exocet.
Shoots like a laser.
Added a scope, made a top quiver mount and cheek rest.

Great, keep them coming! Anything counts if it pre-dates: Micro/Matrix/Vixen II/Axiom/Ibex. Great to see so many of these bows doing what they were born to do!

Here's another pic of my Exocet 165, when it was still in its original state (other than the cheek-piece I added):

Looking at Perforator's bow, its interesting to see the variations in the stenciled camo patterns.

Yes, ExoMax Macro!

Buck that trend of going smaller and go a bit bigger. I don't want my arrow to cleanly pass through the deer, I want one that will pin it to the ground ... makes recovering them a little easier
