Not necessarily going to use a daco , just an idea. I have been toying with the idea of using a rifle stock blank as well . Inletting it for an excal trigger and riser . kinda like a wolverine but lower in draw weight, 100lbs or so .I have a cast riser and set of limbs kicking around that i could use . I don’t have the room or the proper tools at this time though .Tom wrote:This sounds like a very nice project, but I would not personally do it. The trigger system is, lets say, very very terrible. Twice I have taken my Astro Daco Scorpion to BooFest to show what the trigger was like before Excalibur.MI Yeti wrote:If you can’t find a daco limb you might be-able to modify the stock to use an Excalibur riser . I have been wanting to build something like that with the take off riser and limbs from my custom vixen . Low poundage for small game and bow fishing . Keeps getting put on the back burner due to life. Good luck on your search .
The trigger is 12lbs and you also need to push a button in on the back of the stock at the same time as squeezing the trigger. For accuracy, you should be expecting a 5" group at 20 yards. I very seldom ever shoot that bow as it is work and the trigger will leave an indent in your finger.
If you do all that work, you will have ruined a stock (you might happen to find a limb, does not have to be a great limb if only for the wall) and not have a bow which is fun to shoot. I would invest your money into a used Excal for what your wanting.
Bob, good to hear from you again, I guess there is more people after the limb we are also looking for![]()

I have two Excaliburs right now , and neither leaves much of a squirrel left .my vixen will put a hex blunt straight though a good sized fox squirrel and ruin a lot of meant . I am to clumsy to get within my useful long bow range of a few feet

I missed out on a apex rail and trigger a couple weeks ago , that would have been about prefect . Got more bills to pay so it the idea keeps getting set aside .I guess i need to practice more with my long bow
